****During this week, connect with the library - explore the scholarly literature and resources available to you.
Be sure to look through the Transpersonal Resources found on page 687 or the Wiley-Blackwell Handbook of Transpersonal Psychology. Some of these include:
International Journal of Transpersonal Studies (IJTS)
Journal of Consciousness Studies
Journal of Humanistic Psychology
Journal of Transpersonal Psychology
Journal of Transpersonal Research
ReVision: A Journal of Consciousness and Transformation
The Humanistic Psychologist
Transpersonal Psychology Review
Also consider articles on the late William Braud's website: http://www.inclusivepsychology.com/resource.html
Let us know what you discovered or did to explore transpersonal resources. Post a short paragraph. Thank you!
I just had time to login to the library this week and look around a little. I have been so busy trying to keep up with the readings this week that I did find the time to dive in yet.
I found some articles on exceptional human experiences (EHEs) and healing. It seems like the most common search result on EHEs had to do with psychedelic use to induce them. I will need to do a deeper dive into research on healing. My go-to resource has been EBSCO. I will also look further into the Journal of Transpersonal Psychology and the International Journal of Transpersonal Psychology. Compared to my former studies in counseling, there are fewer resources, but hopefully, we will all publish and change that soon.
I thought I wanted to focus on Carl Jung and his work with empaths, however I might be changing my focus toward EHE's, specifically nature-related EHE's but I am not sure if there will be a lot of resources for that. To be honest, I have been having some challenges with the whole digital internet surfing experience. I guess I am old school, but I used to just go to the actual library on campus lol. I had issues with ProQuest, then reached out to their IT department and got assistance. My issue wasn't software related but more with proper navigation. For me, a lot of this isn't intuitive. Even though Sofia allows us access to these resources, we need to sign up and create accounts with each individual platform, which I didn't realize at the time, or prompts to do have been delayed and so forth. Once I get it down, I think like anything else, it will get easier and easier.
I have surfed through the ebook library and found many books that are interesting and relevant to my topic for final paper. Also found many interesting articles from the Transpersonal journal websites (will need to join membership to download or pay a fee for copies). The challenging part for me is how to choose the more relevant and best suited materials given the time constraint for writing my final paper. I would love to read them all during my leisure time (if I have the time).
I am exploring journals on Buddhism, Meditation and Reflection. My final paper I have decided on combining these with transpersonal experiences. This week 4 gave me a defining moment if you will to what my final paper will include. This week has brought me way back in my life to re-evaluate the importance of things. I am excited to move forward
My paper topic attends to the literally "ecstatic" or expansiveness one encounters within Stanislav Grof's (and others') work in what Grof calls "holotropic."
In short, I am looking into how non-ordinary states of consciousness render experiences of spaciousness and interconnectedness. I have checked out the book "The Way of the Psychonaut" by Grof, and am drawing from his chapters on "Synchronicity" (which surely is involved in the experience of interconnectedness) and on "Holotropic States of Consciousness" I also have a book on Shamanism by Mircea Eliade that I will use, along with others.
My topic for the final paper is intergenerational trauma or ancestral wounding. I perused the resources found in the Wiley-Blackwell Handbook of Transpersonal Psychology. I also used Sofia library to search for ebooks and journals on my topic and found a great deal of data to inform my work on this subject. The challenge will be to refine and narrow the scope of the topic.

Sofia library's Transpersonal Psychology section is impressive, including references o meditation and exceptional human experiences (EHEs). I accessed articles in the Journal of Transpersonal Psychology on unified field awareness and found Shear's (1981) work on innate consciousness structures, which aligns with TM's Science of Creative Intelligence for accessing collective dynamics. This supports my interest in how group TM amplifies EHE integration, but the paywalls limited full downloads—I'll use EBSCO for deeper access in my final paper on transcendence mechanisms.
